The first ever Swerve Festival

Today M and I decided to check out Swerve festival at Barnsdall Art Park. To sum it up, Swerve festival is chock-full of music, art, and films happening around the Silver Lake/ Hollywood area. We got there just in time to watch the music videos at the theater. My personal music video favs were RJD2 "Work it Out" directed by Joel Garfield and The Whitest Boy Alive "Golden Cage" with animation by Geoff McFetridge. Turns out some of the directors were in the audience and talked about their work after the screening. We didn't stick around for the free concerts (Oh no! Oh my! was scheduled to play), but did end up eating at Electric Lotus for a late afternoon lunch. Yummy!

From left to right: Sage Vaugh & Syd garon (NASA "Way Down"), Stefan Nadelman (Menomena "Evil Bee"), Cheryl Dunn (Coconut Records "West Coast"), Joey Garfield (RJD2 "Work It Out"), and Festival Director Jonathan Wells.
